This project was all about transforming a residential space in Englewood Cliffs into a sophisticated yet inviting home. The goal was to create a modern, mid-century-inspired design that balances warmth and elegance while maintaining a cozy, moody ambiance. The concept focused on a rich, earthy color palette—think deep browns, beige, cream, and dark chocolate, with pops of burnt orange for contrast. Texture played a key role in adding depth, and lighting was carefully curated to enhance the overall atmosphere. The project covered key areas, including the living room, bathroom, and office, each designed to be both functional and stylish.

이 프로젝트는 Englewood Cliff에 위치한 주거 공간의 인테리어 디자인을 개선하는 작업으로, 현대적이면서도 세련된 분위기를 유지하면서 따뜻하고 아늑한 무드를 연출하는 것이 핵심 목표였다. Mid-Century Modern 스타일을 기반으로 한 디자인 컨셉을 유지하면서도 고객의 요구 사항을 반영하여 맞춤형 공간을 조성하는 것이 주요 과제임과 동시에 디자인 철학은 조명과 그림자의 조화, 질감의 다양성, 그리고 깔끔한 라인의 활용을 강조하며, 컬러 팔레트는 브라운, 베이지, 크림, 다크 초콜릿과 같은 풍부한 톤을 기본으로, 번트 오렌지 포인트 컬러를 활용해 생동감을 더했다. 프로젝트의 주요 공간으로는 거실, 욕실, 사무 공간이 포함되었으며, 각각의 공간은 기능성과 심미성을 모두 고려하여 설계되었다.

Bringing the client’s vision to life was a top priority, so I made sure to highlight key requests like warm tones, layered textures, statement lighting, minimalist bathrooms, and a versatile office space. Instead of just explaining the concept, I used visual elements like mood boards, color palettes, and layout examples to make the ideas more tangible. Clear planning and timelines were also essential to set realistic expectations and ensure a smooth workflow from concept to execution.


고객이 원하는 공간을 실현하는 것이 최우선이었기 때문에, 따뜻한 컬러 톤, 다양한 질감, 포인트 조명, 미니멀한 욕실 디자인, 다목적 사무 공간과 같은 핵심 요청 사항을 강조했고, 단순히 개념을 설명하는 것이 아니라, 무드 보드, 컬러 팔레트, 레이아웃 예시와 같은 시각적 자료를 활용해 아이디어를 보다 명확하게 전달하는 데 집중했다. 또한, 프로젝트가 원활하게 진행될 수 있도록 구체적인 계획과 일정을 포함하여 현실적인 기대치를 설정하는 것도 중요한 부분이었다.

Lighting and mood were central to the design, so I focused on achieving the perfect balance of natural and artificial lighting to enhance textures and create depth. Material contrast was another priority, ensuring that different textures complemented each other while maintaining a cohesive look. Thoughtful furniture placement helped optimize space, ensuring smooth flow and functionality in every room.

조명과 무드는 디자인의 핵심 요소였기 때문에, 자연광과 인공 조명의 균형을 맞추어 공간의 깊이감을 살리는 것에 집중했다. 또한, 서로 다른 질감들이 조화를 이루면서도 통일감 있는 디자인을 유지하도록 소재 대비를 신중하게 조율했다. 가구 배치를 전략적으로 계획해 공간 활용도를 극대화하고, 각 공간에서 자연스럽고 편안한 동선을 만들도록 신경 썼다.

Creating a high-end look while keeping the space warm and inviting required careful planning. It was important to avoid making the design feel too cold or minimalistic, so I incorporated layered textures, played with light and shadow, and selected furniture that balanced modern elegance with comfort. Every detail, from material choices to statement lighting and fireplace design, played a crucial role in bringing the vision to life. The client wanted a sleek and minimalist fireplace with a mounted TV, which required special attention to proportions and layout to maintain both style and functionality.

세련된 분위기를 유지하면서도 따뜻하고 편안한 공간을 만들기 위해 신중한 계획이 필요했다. 지나치게 차갑거나 미니멀한 느낌이 들지 않도록 다양한 질감을 활용하고, 조명과 그림자의 균형을 맞추며, 현대적인 우아함과 편안함을 동시에 갖춘 가구를 선택하는 것이 중요했다. 가구의 소재 선택부터 포인트가 되는 조명과 벽난로 디자인까지, 모든 디테일이 전체적인 컨셉을 완성하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 했다. 특히, 고객이 원하는 깔끔하고 미니멀한 벽난로와 TV 설치를 조화롭게 배치하기 위해 비율과 레이아웃을 신경 써야 했다.

The Ramen TAKUMI project is a design proposal for a ramen restaurant that blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern, industrial elements. The goal is to create an inviting and visually striking space that balances authenticity with contemporary appeal. The two design approaches explore different atmospheres—one focusing on a minimalist, Zen-inspired ambiance, and the other incorporating bold, dynamic elements to attract a younger audience.


Ramen TAKUMI 프로젝트는 일본 전통 미학과 현대적인 산업적 요소를 결합한 라면집 디자인 제안이다. 목표는 전통적인 감성을 유지하면서도 현대적인 매력을 더한 따뜻하고 감각적인 공간을 조성하는 것이며, 두 가지 디자인 접근 방식은 각각 미니멀하고 차분한 젠(Zen) 스타일과 젊고 역동적인 분위기를 강조하는 컨셉으로 구성되어 있다.

A serene and minimalist Zen aesthetic shapes the space, creating a cozy yet refined atmosphere that welcomes guests of all ages. Warm wood tones harmonize with textured plaster and exposed concrete, blending natural warmth with industrial sophistication. Thoughtfully integrated sandstone elements further enhance stability and balance. Lighting design plays a key role, with linear fixtures emphasizing simplicity and order, while curved lighting subtly mimics the organic flow of ramen noodles, adding a playful touch. Carefully selected Katakana typography reinforces cultural authenticity, weaving tradition into the modern setting. The layout prioritizes comfort and inclusivity, ensuring a seamless dining experience for individuals, families, and groups alike. A perfect fusion of Japanese tradition, industrial modernity, and creative expression, designed to provide an immersive and memorable ramen experience.


고요하고 미니멀한 젠(Zen) 스타일이 공간을 구성하며, 모든 연령층이 편안하게 머무를 수 있는 따뜻하고 세련된 분위기를 조성한다. 따뜻한 우드 톤과 텍스처감 있는 회벽, 노출 콘크리트가 조화를 이루며, 자연스러운 온기와 산업적인 세련됨이 균형을 이루도록 설계되었다. 샌드스톤 요소가 추가되어 공간의 안정감과 균형을 더욱 강화한다. 조명 디자인은 공간의 흐름을 결정짓는 중요한 요소로, 직선형 조명은 단순함과 질서를 강조하고, 곡선형 조명은 라면 면발의 유기적인 흐름을 형상화하여 위트를 더한다. 신중하게 선택된 가타카나(Katakana) 타이포그래피가 일본 문화의 정체성을 강화하며, 전통적인 요소를 현대적인 공간 속에 자연스럽게 녹여낸다. 레이아웃은 포용성과 편안함을 최우선으로 고려하여, 혼자 식사하는 손님부터 가족, 단체까지 누구나 부담 없이 즐길 수 있도록 설계되었다. 일본의 전통, 산업적 모던함, 창의적인 감각이 어우러진 공간, 기억에 남을 라면 경험을 선사하기 위해 완성된 디자인.

A bold and modern interpretation of a traditional Japanese ramen shop, designed to attract both younger audiences and a diverse customer base. The balance between vibrant accent colors and refined neutral tones creates a dynamic yet welcoming environment. Industrial elements like steel structures and warm wood surfaces bring contrast and depth, while neon and LED accents add a playful, contemporary twist. Carefully curated typography and Japanese-inspired patterns enhance the space’s authenticity, making it both visually stimulating and culturally immersive. A perfect fusion of tradition and modernity, designed to offer a stylish yet comfortable ramen experience.


전통적인 일본 라면 가게를 대담하고 현대적인 감각으로 재해석하여, 젊은 고객층뿐만 아니라 다양한 연령대의 방문객을 끌어들이는 공간으로 디자인되었다. 강렬한 포인트 컬러와 정제된 뉴트럴 톤의 조화가 역동적이면서도 따뜻한 분위기를 연출한다. 철제 구조물과 우드 소재를 활용한 인더스트리얼 요소가 공간에 깊이와 대비를 더하며, 네온과 LED 조명이 감각적인 현대적 분위기를 부여한다. 신중하게 선택된 타이포그래피와 일본 전통 패턴이 조화를 이루어, 시각적으로 매력적이며 문화적으로도 몰입할 수 있는 공간을 완성했다. 전통과 현대가 공존하는 디자인, 스타일리시하면서도 편안한 라면 경험을 제공하는 공간.

This project is centered around the concept of "Luxury & Modern", creating a clean yet inviting atmosphere with a refined sense of elegance. By blending rich, dark wood flooring with stone elements and opulent marble textures, the design enhances both sophistication and warmth. The carefully curated balance of materials ensures that the space feels luxurious yet welcoming for residents and guests alike.

이 프로젝트는 "럭셔리 & 모던" 컨셉을 기반으로, 세련되면서도 편안한 분위기를 조성하는 것을 목표로 했다. 딥 브라운 우드 플로어, 석재 요소, 고급스러운 대리석 텍스처를 조화롭게 결합하여 우아함과 따뜻함을 동시에 극대화하였고, 세심하게 조율된 소재의 균형을 통해 공간이 고급스러우면서도 친근한 느낌을 주도록 설계되었다.

Key areas of focus include the living room, dining area, kitchen, mini bar, and sunroom, with strategic updates such as mood-enhancing lighting, built-in storage solutions, and statement accent walls. Subtle touches like patterned wallpaper and thoughtfully placed lighting add depth and character while maintaining a cohesive design. The result is a home that seamlessly combines modern aesthetics with functional living, offering a timeless yet stylish environment.

주요 디자인 영역은 거실, 다이닝 공간, 주방, 미니 바, 선룸으로, 무드를 강조하는 조명, 빌트인 수납 솔루션, 포인트 월 디자인 등이 핵심 요소이다. 패턴 벽지와 전략적으로 배치된 조명을 활용하여 공간에 깊이와 개성을 더하면서도 전체적인 디자인의 조화를 유지하였다. 그 결과, 모던한 감각과 실용성을 겸비한 세련된 주거 공간이 완성되었다.

After establishing the overall concept and design direction, an initial draft was created to ensure a harmonious balance throughout the space. A structured guideline was set in place to assess how well the design aligned with the client’s needs and expectations.

전체적인 컨셉과 디자인 방향성을 설정한 후, 공간의 조화로운 균형을 맞추기 위해 초안을 구성하였다. 이를 바탕으로 가이드라인을 마련하고, 디자인이 고객의 니즈와 기대에 얼마나 부합하는지 면밀히 검토하였다.

Building upon the draft, the core design direction remained intact while adjustments were made to reflect the client’s specific requirements and budget. Through this process, a well-coordinated balance was achieved, allowing for positive refinements that enhanced both functionality and aesthetics.

초안을 기반으로 전체적인 디자인 방향성을 유지하면서도, 클라이언트의 구체적인 요구사항과 예산을 반영하여 조율이 이루어졌다. 이를 통해 기능성과 미적 요소를 모두 강화하는 긍정적인 수정이 이루어졌으며, 최적의 균형을 완성할 수 있었다.

This project focused on designing a cohesive living room and office space with an industrial & loft-inspired aesthetic, incorporating smart space division and functional design elements. Additionally, 3D visualizations were provided for the kitchen, master bathroom, and guest bathroom, ensuring a seamless blend of style and practicality throughout the home.
